We believe…
...that teaching children about Christ, and about their abilities as people who can do work for Christ, is one of the most important things we can do during our time on earth. We also know that raising a child who has special needs can be both wonderful and exhausting. Parents of those children need resources, time to rest, and education on caring for that child. Because of this, we believe in and support these families.
Not all of the children or families who want and need to attend Charis Hills have the financial means to do so. To support these campers’ attendance, please consider a gift to the scholarship fund if your means allow. Such a gift can be specified for summer camp or for family camp. (It can not be earmarked for a particular child or family.)
Additionally, our ministry incurs costs, including salaries for our staff and counselors, electricity, insurance, food, copiers, mail, and everything else other businesses pay for. Gifts help to cover our operating expenses.
We are a 501(c)3 nonprofit, which means that no staff member--from the top on down--receives anything other than a salary. Those salaries are comparable with similar organizations. Many dedicated volunteers help us carry out our ministry without incurring additional costs.
Because Charis Hills Inc. is a nonprofit organization, any money or item you donate, where services or goods are not exchanged, is tax-deductible. Donations can be made via cash, check, or credit card, or with what are called “in-kind” donations, meaning the gift of things other than money.
Your donations of funds, time, and in-kind support keeps our costs down and our programs accessible to more families.
